Civil Engineering is a very exciting and, at the same time, a varied industry field, in which the routine has no place. It is the field designed for the needs of the society. This field is multidisciplinary, encompassing buildings, infrastructure as well as the use and conservation/ preservation of natural resources. The engineer belonging to this area is a creator, a builder and also, a manager. The study programmes within the Faculty of Civil Engineering are called to respond with innovative solutions to the greatest challenges of our century, namely to ensure sustainable living.

The primary mission of the Faculty of Civil Engineering is to train the 21st century engineer, focusing on preparing engineers for execution, engineering design, operation and scientific research through two academic cycles (the Bachelor and the Master Degree Programmes), based on the concept of “designing together”. A second mission of the Faculty of Civil Engineering is the development of scientific research activities of the teachers in collaboration with researchers from other faculties of the university and scientific research institutes in the country or abroad.
