  • Land Reclamation and Rural Development (LRRD)

Construction Engineering and Management field of study (240 credits, 4 years), with 1 study programme

  • Construction Engineering and Management (CEM)

CIAB

The study programme aims at training engineers who approve the execution of civil industrial or agricultural engineering projects, draw the working schedule, drawing up a list of raw materials, materials and labour force necessary to implement the project phases.

The study programme aims at training engineers who approve the execution of civil industrial or agricultural engineering projects, draw the working schedule and lay down a list of raw materials, materials and labour force necessary to implement the project phases.

Overview

Duration: 4 years

Main activities:

  • development of detailed technical plans based on architectural design (sections, calculations, technical specifications)
  • determination procedures in accordance with project construction work and materials used
  • verifying architectural plan of the building and ensure the viability of the project
  • determining the heat loss of the building and the necessary equipment and insulation materials
  • supervision, coordination and inspection activities of technicians and workers

Constructions made by a CIAB engineer are the most diverse: residential and administrative buildings, sports facilities and entertainment, hotels, industrial buildings, etc.

Graduates of this specialization can be found in: design institutes and offices, consulting firms, research institutes and centers, manufacturing enterprises, professional services and banking administration.

Our graduates have participated in the execution of reference works such as City Park Mall, as employees of internationally well-known companies like Neocity or Hazinedaroglu or residential and seaside hotels with Vectra Construct.

Our graduates have also participated in the execution of hydraulic works or embankments and even special designs/constructions.

LRRD

LRRD study programme prepares engineers for the design, construction and operation of hydraulic and industrial works which are intended to improve the natural and living conditions of people.

Overview

Duration: 4 years

Land reclamation is made up of:

• irrigation works consisting of outlets, pumping stations, canals and pipelines for the adduction and distribution of irrigation water to under pressure pumping stations

• irrigation works in the paddy fields consisting of under pressure pumping stations, an inside pipe and irrigation canal network, watering mobile equipment

• pumping and drainage works comprising of main sewer/collecting channels and the associated pumping stations, drainage channels, drains and drainage collectors

• works for the control of soil erosion (CSE)

• dams and defense dykes against flooding from the Danube and the inland rivers

• water supply and sanitation works for rural and urban areas

• production and administrative buildings.

Practice/ Training

LRRD students during the studying years, are trained as follows:

• Year I- Topographic practice/training.

• Year II – General construction practice/training

• Year III and IV – specialty practice/training.

LRRD graduates can work in any subfield of civil engineering (civil and industrial construction, hydraulic engineering, railroads-construction: roads and bridges, building municipal networks/utilities, etc.).

Because Romania is expanding from an economic point of view, the demands for specialized personnel in civil engineering is high and the chances of employment after graduation are even higher

90% of our graduates from LRRD Specialization are employed and work in the field, the other 10% are employed in related specialties/fields.

WMHS

WMHS study programme trains engineers for the design, construction and operation of hydraulic and industrial works which are meant to improve the natural and living conditions of people.

Overview

Duration: 4 years

Water management and hydraulic structures consists of:

• execution of dams on water streams for the settlement and regularization of accumulation lakes/reservoirs.

• hydropower works for energy-water use

• pumping stations, canals and water supply pipelines for irrigation.

• water treatment stations for rural and urban areas.

• defense dams and dykes against flooding from the Danube and the inland rivers.

• water supply systems and sewerage networks for rural and urban areas

• navigable channels on inland rivers and sea harbors

Graduates of this programme can be employed in the Waterways Administration, the National Company of Maritime Ports Administration, County Water Autonomous Administration or other hydraulic and civil engineering companies.

Practice / training

WMHS students during the studying years, are trained as follows:

– Year I – Topographic practice/training.

– Year II – General construction practice/training

– Year III and IV – specialty practice/training.

WMHS graduates can work in any subfield of civil engineering (civil and industrial construction, hydraulic engineering, railroad-construction: roads and bridges, building municipal networks/utilities, etc.).

Because Romania is expanding from an economic point of view, the demands for specialized personnel in civil engineering is high and the chances of employment after graduation are even higher

90% of our graduates from WMHS Specialization are employed and work in the field, the other 10% are employed in related specialties/fields.

CEM

The CEM study programme trains engineers, professionals – future activity coordinators for the design, execution, operation of civil, industrial and agricultural constructions; additionally they get a solid understanding of the economic area complying with the European standards.

Overview

Duration: 4 years

During the 4th year of study our students acquire knowledge about:

• Economic analysis of production systems

• Modeling and simulation of manufacturing systems

• Marketing

• Engineering and Quality Management

• Human Resource Management

• Efficiency of Investments

• Strategic Management

• Engineering of Production Systems

• Environmental Engineering

thus, having the alternative to work in related fields.

Due to the international recognition of the technical and economic studied subjects our graduates can work both in Romania and abroad.

Faculty of Civil Engineering graduates are mainly employed in specialized units including:
